First night off my hammock... instant regret

Not sure where this fits so posting here. Two years of hammock bliss, then 1 night on a Thermarest UberLite and I remembered why I ditched inflatables in the first place. Pressure points, shifting air and no support. Might just stick with the closed-cell Z Lite. Anyone else regret switching back?

yep, been there. this is why I always use a hammock. why did you switch to uberlite in the first place? just curious

Went for the UberLite thinking I'd give inflatables one last chance but one night was enough to remind me why I walked away. Hammock life spoiled me and I'm not about to fight with shifting air again. Sticking with the Z Lite and calling it a lesson learned.

I know exactly what you mean,I tried an ultralight inflatable mattress on a trip last summer. It was the middle of the night, and it was half-deflated, I was battling the cold spots while trying to chase my pillow around. On my next trip, I took my trusty old closed-cell foam pad, and I slept like a rock. Sometimes, keeping it simple is just the way to go

Man, you get it. Middle of the night gear battle is no fun. I found out from another user I was inflating it way too firm for a hammock anyway. My Z Lite's looking better and better with every story I hear.
