Whenever the subject comes up regarding these Jungle hammocks the first questions seem to be where can I get one and how much. There are many sources and prices. I've seen them military surplus in fair shape for over $200 dollars to as little as $35. (these are Chinese before the Tariffs)
What you need to take into consideration is the material they are made of, the width, and the weather proof roof/awning material. If you purchase a Jungle Hammock make sure the roof is constructed such that it would shed water. Some of these have basically a flat roof that a rain would fill with water. (may be OK in arid climates but would be a disaster in the rain.
If you set up a Walmart online account they have a Jungle Hammock for around $60 dollars.

If you live where it may rain little, then an aerosol can of water repellent may be handy for treating the hammock's roof. If there is rain where you travel, then there are silicone waterproofing aerosols available. These products may be found at Walmart too for as little as $7 dollars to $15 for the waterproofing.
