I am going Back to a hammock setup

I'm about trying a hammock setup again and want to upgrade my suspension. The Becket hitch looks super simple, so I'm considering 15' UHMWPE straps from Dutch, hitting around 72g for 30', I am planning to use that with a Becket hitch to a continuous loop, does that even make sense these days?

I'm still using Dutch kevlar straps along with whoopie slings,they might not be the lightest option, but they're super reliable. I keep some mule tape on hand for those tricky hangs. Also, I'm curious about the UHMWPE material since it's pretty slippry with knots. Has anyone tested it out with a becket hitch yet

I'm curious too, UHMWPE's slippery nature makes me wonder if Becket hitch holds well, I would love to hear if anyone's tested this combo already

If you're concerned about the Becket hitch not holding fast, leave enough extra going out to the "bitter end" so that you can tie a couple of half hitches on the lead. Simple, ez, and secure.

But there are any number of knots that can be used that are secure and easy enough to "untie" when done.
