I'm trying to find those cool triangle hammocks people hang in the corner of rooms, usually from the ceiling. I saw the pics on social media. I want a cotton rope one for a chill indoor vibe, but I need a cost effective option.

What are these things officially called? Is there a good generic search term or brand I can use instead of just scrolling forever? Thanks!

If you were thinking of hanging it from vertical wall studs behind your sheet rock, you'd need to calculate the "pull" load on the suspension straps for the weight load in the "hammock". Note that it is a static load, not a "bouncing around" load.

If, as you said, you are hanging from joists in the ceiling, that would be better. But I'd still pay for the advice of a builder. You will be loading structures in ways they weren't made/designed to be loaded.

When I've seen photos of those triangle hammocks, they are often empty and pulled really tight. For a regular hammock, if you have 200 lbs in it, and it's suspended so there is only a 10-degree angle in the suspension, that will put 576 lbs of pull at the end of the suspension.

I've only seen a triangle hammock style, in pictures, set up outside with trees. I've never seen one retrofitted inside a house. Maybe you could include a photo with your post.

look for Macrame Corner Hammock or a Toy Hammock/Net. the cotton rope ones are definitely macrame.
Try searching for macrame toy storage net or corner macrame hammock for stuffed animals on Amazon or Etsy. That should filter out all the giant outdoor hammocks and get you the decorative, cost effective ones!
