There are several "no tree" options out there. The latest I know of is the TurtleBug stand. I mostly use a Tensa Solo pole that still requires one solid support and good anchoring for the solo pole itself. This TurtleBug is a smaller package than a Tensa4 and much smaller/lighter than a TurtleDog stand. The only "issue" I've come across (YouTube Videos) is that for some people, the suspension loop on their hammock is a little too small for the recommendations addressing the desire to have the hammock head end a bit lower than the foot end. But that can be easily accommodated.
Are there any other concerns? Is there any news/suggestion of updates? I believe we are still on version 1.0.
My original TurtleDog stand is a monster - good only for car camping; i.e., transport by car. It definitely takes longer to set up than the record times for the TurtleBug shown in some videos.
