Hammock setup advice needed

I just did a quick overnight trip at Fahnestock State Park and had a small gear issue. I use a Banyan Bridge hammock and a mesh pouch from Autumn Ultralight to hold my shoes. I started doing that after a raccoon took one of my boots last fall haha!

Right now I also use a saddle bag from TrailHead Supply, but I'm thinking about removing it and adding another mesh pouch on the other side. I don't bring much stuff, so the saddle bag feels too big for me.

Slowsteady_56, Welcome to the forum. I searched for the vendor and haven't found them yet, but I have a pouch or "gear box" that zips closed and hangs off the hammock's ridgeline. It's about 3 ft long and once in camp, anything I take out of a pack or dry bag (except cooking gear) goes in the pouch because I'll probably use it again.

I use it with a WarBonnet BlackBird that has one ridgeline. I don't know about the Banyon.

However, for boots/shoes, I usually hang them, via a carabiner, at the end of the hammock, on the suspension line from the hammock to the tree.

If I can find the vendor of my mini-gearbox within the available edit window, I'll post it here.

Note that vendors like MollyMac have a stand-alone gearbox you can hang separately from your hammock. Sometimes that's a plus, sometimes not.

You really need to check if those two mesh pouches can actually hold everything you usually stash in your saddle bag. It's important to make sure they'll fit all your stuff.

Funny story about the raccoon, those little bandits will get you every time!
Anyway, I'd say you're on the right track considering to ditch the saddle bag and getting another mesh pouch.
I use a few of those pouches on my bridge hammock and they're perfect for keeping small stuff like my glasses or headlamp right where I need them.
You could also just use a small accessory carabiner to clip the one pouch you already have to a different spot on the hammock's ridgeline, or even just another spot on the suspension.
That would at least get you through until you order another pouch.
